Kepware Driver List: Every Supported PLC Protocol in KEPServerEX (2026 Reference)

If you are evaluating Kepware KEPServerEX (now also marketed as Kepware Server by PTC),

Important: KEPServerEX is an OPC server that connects to devices from the manufacturers listed below. Allied Solutions Global is an authorised Kepware (PTC) distributor — we sell the Kepware connectivity software, not the third-party hardware. If your plant already runs Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Honeywell, Yokogawa or any other brand below, Kepware is the software bridge that brings their data into your SCADA, MES, historian or cloud platform.

If you are evaluating Kepware KEPServerEX (now also marketed as Kepware Server by PTC), the first question is usually: does it support my hardware? This reference lists every device driver available in KEPServerEX as published in the official PTC driver-options datasheet, organised by manufacturer so you can find your PLC, RTU, or protocol in seconds.

As of 2026, KEPServerEX ships with over 150 device drivers covering virtually every major PLC, CNC controller, building-automation protocol, and SCADA device family in industrial use. Drivers can be licensed individually or as cost-effective suites. For background on what Kepware does, see our complete guide to Kepware industrial connectivity.

How drivers are licensed

Kepware drivers can be licensed individually (one driver at a time) or as suites (bundled groups of related drivers). Suites are almost always more cost-effective when you need two or more drivers from the same family. The main suites and their coverage:

  • Manufacturing Suite — 100+ drivers covering the most common factory-floor PLCs, CNCs, and protocols. Best value for mixed-equipment plants.
  • Advanced Manufacturing Suite — every Kepware driver, including the Universal Device Driver and DataLogger. For the most diverse device landscapes.
  • Siemens Suite — all Siemens drivers except S7 Plus Ethernet.
  • Siemens Plus Suite — all Siemens drivers plus S7 Plus Ethernet and OPC UA Client.
  • Allen-Bradley Suite — all Rockwell/AB drivers.
  • Modbus Suite — all Modbus variants (TCP, RTU, ASCII, Plus, Unsolicited).

How to test: the free KEPServerEX demo

PTC offers a free demo download of KEPServerEX from their website. The demo runs in 2-hour mode with no limitations on channels, devices, tags, or features. After two hours, restart and continue — unlimited restarts. This lets you validate that Kepware connects to your specific hardware before committing budget.

Once you have confirmed connectivity, contact Allied Solutions Global with the list of devices you tested. We will recommend the right suite and return a quotation within one business day.

Frequently asked questions

How many drivers does KEPServerEX have?

The official PTC driver-options datasheet lists over 140 individual device drivers. PTC markets the platform as supporting “150+ drivers” because additional drivers (such as the Siemens S7 Plus Ethernet) are available beyond the base datasheet, and new drivers are added with each release.

Can KEPServerEX connect to a PLC that is not on this list?

Possibly. If the device speaks a standard protocol (Modbus TCP, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, BACnet/IP), one of the existing drivers will work. If the device uses a proprietary serial protocol, the User Configurable (U-CON) driver lets you define custom frame parsing. For truly unsupported hardware, contact us — PTC occasionally develops new drivers on request.

Which suite do I need for a mixed Siemens and Allen-Bradley plant?

The Manufacturing Suite covers both Siemens (TCP/IP Ethernet) and Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, DF1, etc.) plus Modbus and 100+ other drivers. If you need the Siemens S7 Plus Ethernet driver for S7-1500 optimised blocks, you will need either the Siemens Plus Suite as an add-on or the Advanced Manufacturing Suite (which includes everything).

Is the driver list the same for Kepware Edge (Linux)?

No. Kepware Edge supports a subset of the KEPServerEX driver portfolio. The Windows-based KEPServerEX (Kepware Server) has the broadest driver coverage. If Linux is a requirement, check the current Kepware Edge driver list on PTC’s website or contact us for the latest compatibility matrix.

Where does this driver list come from?

Every driver name in this article is sourced from the official PTC “Driver Options for KEPServerEX” datasheet (document J7845, 2023 revision) and the PTC Kepware product pages on kepware.com. We have not added any assumed or unverified drivers.
